2011 Recap

The year started like any other. New Years then my birthday. But at that point college preparations and high school stuff was looming over my head. I was playing basketball and doing speech until I had to quite basketball to get another job to help my mom with the bills. I was also dating my now ex. But little did I know that just after my birthday a now very important person would walk into my life and say for the rest of the year. I met this important person in at a speech meet. We were both very unprepared I might add. But little did I know that One sentence could change my entire life. "Hey, nice hat." I just responded with a hesitant thank you and went on my way to my round where I would later find out that the person who had said that sentence would be competing as well.  After that day this person and I competed against one another a lot. So much so that I began to look forward to talking to him.
Then just like the change in seasons became a new chapter in this year, track season. I was competing with one of my best friends. Though I hardly ever made it to practice because I was still working two jobs. But that's not really the point. To my delightful surprise I found that person at a track meet. Only he was taking pictures instead of competing.  But because I was a thrower we had a lot of time to talk while he took pictures of his competing school mates. We talked and I decided I liked him so much that I gave him my number so that we could talk when ever we felt like it.  Between the many track meets that were held at his school I got my tongue pierced. Boy was that weird at first. It was also around prom season at this point. And I had a boyfriend at the time and I went with him against his will. He and I were struggling that this point. About at month after prom the boy I competed against in speech and I and a couple of his friends went bowling. That's when I started realizing that he and I could have a future if I got ride of my boyfriend.
After we went bowling I started looking for excuses to talk with him and to hang out with him again. Finally after a couple of weeks I found one. I asked him to come shopping with me for a graduation dress. He went with you hesitation. While shopping he asked me to hold his hand so he didn't look or sound gay, because he has a great fashion sense. He attributes it to having two older sisters.  What ever the reason is we found a dress and I took him home after eating dinner. But on the way home it started raining so hard that we had to pull the car over and wait out the storm. Finally I got him home. And when we said goodbye we kissed. Something I had been dieing for sense we had to pull over because of the rain.
After that we were dating. But I still had my old boyfriend. And Graduation was just around the corner. So Graduation came and went and so did the month of may. Then June came and I got ride of my old boyfriend and began to focus on the new one.
The summer was one I will never forget. We spent many nights sitting on the porch swing talking and listening to the dog bark at the creatures of the night.
The nights started to grow colder and the time at home with him grew shorter. Soon it was August and I was starting college and college softball. Softball flew by and so did school. I visited home a lot and grew closer to my love and with his family. I also made many friends all of which I hope become life long friends.
Now the year is coming to a close and a new one is about to begin and I can only hope that this coming years challenges are easier to face then this years.  This year was a year of change and I have a feeling that even bigger changes are on their way. :)

P.S. I am sorry it took so long for an update.
